Location
Gili Trawangan is the biggest of three small islands on the north west coast of Lombok. The island is a true tropical paradise - white coral sand beaches and crystal clear waters surround a green and peaceful environment with no motorized traffic.

Although Gili Trawangan has a remote feel to it, it is easy to get here from e.g. Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Bali or Lombok. Fast boats go back and forth to Bali every day and there are direct international flights to Lombok. The new Lombok international airport, expected to open in 2010, will increase the ease of travel as well. The tourist traffic is strong year round, with peak times in the summer months and around Christmas/New Year and other holidays.

The life in Gili Trawangan is relaxed and fun, with plenty of activities available including the most popular of them all, scuba diving. For scuba divers, a multitude of fabulous dive sites await around the Gili islands, most within a 10-15 minute boat ride from Gili Trawangan.
